Taylor Swift Tales

“I was trying to fly,
But I couldn’t find wings,
But you came along and you changed everything.”

Love, fairy tales, romance, heartbreaks – all shape up Taylor Swift’s songs. Her songs have that warm feeling that makes you blush but some of them tell tales of not-so-fairy tale stories that make the heart sink.

Taylor came into lime light with her top song song “Love Story” than earned her world wide fame. She started off with country music, with a guitar in hand. Her voice is like a nightingale singing the sweetest melodies.

Taylor plays with words of love and romance and her songs make us wanna be a part of a sweet relationship. Her lyrics strums the deepest chords of our heart with sweet and sour notes of our memories and life. She always tries to tell us that life is like a stream in a rocky mountain, beautiful but has its boulders. Her songs seem to be teenager songs, but to be honest her stories happen in everyday life.

Even though it is her trend to write songs based on her relationships and heartbreaks, but lets face it, she is absolutely amazing. She has won 7 Grammy Awards. And 245 other prestigious awards for her spectacular songs and albums.

One thing I absolutely love about her is that she sings just as amazing on stage like her records sound, which clearly reflects her sheer talent.

Taylor Swift’s first album is self titled. And was released in 2006. At a very young age she managed to win hearts worldwide with songs like “Teardrops On My Guitar“, “Our Song“, “Picture To Burn” etc.

“I’ve heard every album, listened to the radio
Waited for something to come along
That was as good as our song.”
~Our song

This album inculcates as well as represents her feelings about teenage heartbreaks and struggles through high school life.

Her album “Fearless” is an anecdote to her maturity in lyrics and depth in country music. This album is my favorite with amazing songs like “Love Story“, “White Horse“, “You Belong With Me“, “Fifteen” and “Fearless“.

She rang hearts and stirred feelings with her song “Love Story” which was the trigger to her fame and success ride.

A quaint song with beautiful words –

“Romeo, take me somewhere we can be alone.
I’ll be waiting; all that’s left to do is run.
You’ll be the prince and I’ll be the princess.
It’s a love story, baby, just say, ‘Yes’.”
~Love Story

And the world said ‘Yes!’ to her music.

Her next album, “Speak Now” gave her fans hope and credence that ‘love’ is indeed magical and forever. The songs “Mine“, “The Story Of Us“, “Sparks Fly” and “Ours” convey the same meaning within – tales of a good going love story of two people who deal with life’s fluctuations and instabilities but still manage to cherish their love.

The song “Back To December” touches my heart deep within. With the backdrop of winter and snowfall, the song narrates how missing someone you love can be so hurtful.

“It turns out freedom ain’t nothing but missing you,
Wishing I’d realized what I had when you were mine,
I go back to December, turn around and make it all right,
I go back to December all the time.”
~Back to December

Her album “Red” again deals with heartbreaks and promises of a new start. The songs “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together“, “I Knew You Were Trouble” won much popularity. She did a song featuring Ed Sheeran, “Everything Has Changed” and the video is adorable.

Her album “1989“(the year she was born) released recently with songs – “Shake It Off” and “Blank Space“. This album is her boldest one with really edgy lyrics and complete change from her comfort zone.

Taylor Swift never stuck with either soft or loud, they are a mix. Her songs take us on an adventure ride of bitter-sweet emotions with the best quality music.
Plug in the headphones and let all your emotions drain. Taylor really teaches us to follow our heart and to face the feelings deep inside that we hesitate to deal with.
Her songs definitely act as a shield for us to deal with life and be happy about it. So, just unwind and make the most of it.
